Time to upgrade to Windows 10

Microsoft has announced that in January 2020, Windows 7 will be at the end of life.  It is important to stay ahead of the transition and replacement strategy so that you are always operating with an optimal system and we are replacing systems when required.

Why should I upgrade?
Since Windows 7 support is ending in 2020, this means that there will be no more patches or fixes for applications nor will there be support for the operating system itself. This makes your systems running Windows 7 more open to hacks, malware, viruses, and other potential security flaws. On top of that, Windows 10 comes with improved security and management, and improved privacy and transparency.

Therefore, to avoid security risks and viruses, it is strongly recommended to upgrade these systems to Windows 10. It is important to do it sooner rather than later because there will be a rush in the fall to upgrade.

What are the cons upgrading?
Migrating to a new system can be a difficult and a long process. Furthermore, it can become costly depending on how many systems are running Windows 7. However, we are here to help with that. We will do all the work for you and find the best time to schedule these implementations. We will also provide the best solutions on which systems should be upgraded or replaced, so you are getting the most investment out of your money.

The process of upgrading to Windows 10
  1. Backup the system. The time the backup takes depends on the data size and the hardware speed (Disk I/O, RAM, etc).
  2. Install Windows 10. The install depends on the Disk I/O, and data size.
  3. Lockdown. After the installation, we will need to configure the OS to avoid sending as much data on default. Such services are: Diagnostic Data, Targeted Ads.
  4. Testing. Once the upgrade is complete we will need to test all applications.
